This campground is owned by the Canaveral Port Authority and is one of the most popular parks in Brevard County. Its popularity is due in part to the limited number of full service camping facilities in the area. The park has 126 campsites, two small stores, a playground, fishing pier and beach. The campsites are close together and some have full hookups and partial shade.

Campers and park visitors gather around sunset to watch the cruise ships depart the port. The campsites overlooking the inlet do not have electric or water service. The park also has a playground, picnic shelters and a 1,200 foot fishing pier. There are many stores and restaurants just south of the park.

The Kennedy Space Center, the Warbird Museum, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore are all north of the park. They all great side trips but do not have camping facilities. The Black Point Wildlife Drive offers the opportunity to view a wide variety of bird along a five mile scenic one-way drive.

We stayed at this park in March 2007 .
