Located off of I-4 and just north of Orlando, this Florida State Park has a large springhead for swimming and rents canoes and kayaks for trips on the Wekiva River and the connecting Rock Springs Run.
Campsites are private and well-shaded. There are plenty of restaurants and stores just outside the park.
The park has extensive hiking trails and paved roads for biking. The large grassy area around the spring is great for picnicking. The park has small black bears that occasionally come into the campground looking for food.
Nearby attractions include Blue Springs State Park, and the Central Florida Zoo. Seaworld, Universal Studios and Walt Disney World are about 20 to 35 miles east on I-4.
Our most recent visits to this park were in October 2005, March and December 2006, September 2008 and March 2009.
